How it all startedI distinctly remember sitting two feet away from the television completely enthralled with the show I was watching. It was a cold winter afternoon in 1982, I was 8 years old and I knew that someday I wanted to participate in the Hawaii Ironman. My father was watching too and I have since wondered if my infatuation with such an extreme sport bothered him. After all, to an 8 year old an Ironman sure did look like fun! Where else, as an adult, do you get to stay in your wet bathing suit all day? Sure my infatuation wavered along the way but triathlon and the pursuit of the Hawaii Ironman always lingered. Life happened along the way and 20 years later I made the choice to dedicate myself to really getting to Hawaii.
